Industrial safety railing systems

Industrial environments put railings under a different kind of pressure than a rooftop terrace or a residential balcony: forklift traffic, vibration, washdown cycles, temperature swings, and operators who need a barrier they can lean on without a second thought.

Creda’s industrial safety railing systems are engineered for exactly that context: modular aluminium guardrails, designed and manufactured in-house in Italy, built to measure for the load, layout and standard your plant actually requires.

Creda’s industrial guardrail models

Every Creda railing is built from a modular aluminium system. These are the core mounting configurations available as a starting point for an industrial project; each can be adapted in height, incline and accessories to match your site.

European safety standards for industrial railing systems

Railings installed in an industrial setting are a compliance requirement. In the EU, permanent guard-rails and edge protection on machinery, plant and industrial buildings fall under EN ISO 14122-3, the European standard covering fixed means of access to machinery, which sets out requirements for guard-rail height, intermediate rail spacing, toe-boards and the structural resistance of the whole assembly.

In Spain, this standard is adopted nationally as UNE-EN ISO 14122-3.

Alongside the equipment standard, the general duty to protect workers from a fall risk in Spain comes from Real Decreto 486/1997, the royal decree on minimum health and safety requirements in the workplace, which requires employers to provide permanent, adequately protected edge protection wherever a fall hazard exists. In Italy, the equivalent general obligation sits in D.Lgs 81/2008, with structural requirements for the railing’s supporting elements set out in NTC 2018 (DM 17/01/2018).

For an industrial installation, this means concrete design requirements: the railing and its fixings have to resist both a distributed load along the top rail and a localised impact load, accounting for an operator leaning, a stray load contact, or accidental knocks from equipment moving nearby, without deflecting beyond the limits the standard allows. Creda’s in-house technical office calculates these requirements case by case for every project, based on the specific loads, mounting surface and standard that apply to your site, and supplies a certificate of conformity confirming compliance with the applicable standard.

Accessories and the value of custom engineering

A standard railing accessory list covers most projects. An industrial site rarely fits a standard list, and that’s exactly where Creda’s approach to customisation earns its keep.

Complies with legal regulations

Complies with legal regulations

Staffe e bulloneria in acciaio INOX per fissaggio a parete o a pavimento
Stainless steel brackets and hardware for wall or floor mounting
Giunti a gomito con innesto per chiusura angoli
Elbow joints with insert for closing corners
Zavorre in cemento per parapetti autoportanti
Concrete weights for self-supporting railings
Montaggio semplice e rapido con viti autoforanti
Easy and quick assembly with self-tapping screws
Corrimano in allumino in barre da 3 metri
Aluminum handrail in 3 meter bars
Parapiedi in alluminio conforme alle normative
Aluminum footboard compliant with regulations

Every one of these is a genuine engineering decision, not a checkbox on a configurator: Creda is one of the very few manufacturers in Italy that builds every railing, accessories included, entirely to measure, rather than adapting a fixed catalogue. When a mounting surface doesn’t match any standard bracket, Creda’s technical office designs one from scratch and supplies the technical drawing before production starts.

Benefits of Creda’s industrial safety railings

  • Continuous, passive protection
Unlike a harness or a lanyard, a railing protects every operator who walks past it, without requiring training, inspection intervals, or the worker to actually use the equipment correctly.
  • Reduced fall risk without slowing down operations
A properly designed guardrail lets maintenance, inspection and production staff work at height without the setup time a personal fall-arrest system requires.
  • Corrosion resistance built for the plant floor
Aluminium construction resists rust in washdown areas, humid environments and outdoor installations, cutting maintenance costs over the life of the structure.
  • Fast, weld-free installation
Bolted modular assembly means railings go up without hot work permits or on-site welding, a real advantage in food production or chemical environments where welding disrupts operations.
  • Lower total cost of ownership
Modular components can be replaced individually rather than rebuilding the whole run, and the lightweight structure keeps transport and installation costs down compared with steel alternatives.
  • Compliance documentation included
Every railing ships with its certificate of conformity, giving facility managers ready-made documentation for safety audits and inspections.

Where industrial railings are used

Creda’s industrial safety railing systems are built for a wide range of production and logistics environments, including:

  • Food and beverage plants, where corrosion resistance and washdown-compatible finishes matter as much as the structural standard
  • Paper mills, protecting elevated walkways, mezzanines and access points around processing lines
  • Industrial plant engineering, securing platforms, roof edges and machinery access points across process industries
  • Warehousing and logistics facilities, protecting mezzanine edges, loading platforms and pedestrian routes around forklift traffic

Because every project is engineered rather than picked from a catalogue, the same modular system adapts to the specific loads, layout and regulatory requirements of each of these sectors, without forcing a compromise between what the site needs and what happens to be in stock.

Why choose Creda for your industrial railing project

Founded in 2019, Creda has grown into a team of 19 people with a single focus: aluminium access and safety systems built to measure.

  • Every railing is engineered for its exact installation site.
  • Railings, cage ladders, stairways and walkways are all designed case by case.
  • We follow every project from the first drawing through to delivery.
  • Simple configurations can ship in around two weeks; larger, multi-module projects are planned over a few months without compromising on precision.
  • On-site installation available across Italy, with technical support for international projects across Europe.
